Private Mental Fitness Coaching in Los Angeles

Private mental fitness coaching in Los Angeles is training for the part of you that stays braced under pressure, done one-on-one with a method that works on your nervous system instead of just your understanding. With Envision Yoga that means bilateral audio, yoga, visualization, and affirmations in a focused hour, $200 for 60 minutes, packages available, in person in LA or over Zoom. It is not therapy and not a pep talk. It is repetition, in a calm state, until a steadier way of reacting becomes your default.

I am Leah Davis, E-RYT 500, teaching yoga since 2011, with a background in screenwriting and software first. I use the word coaching here because that is the search people type, but what I actually do is closer to strength training for the mind than to advice.

What is mental fitness coaching?

Mental fitness coaching is practicing a calmer, surer way of responding often enough that your body starts doing it on its own. Physical training builds muscle through repetition. This builds capacity the same way: the ability to think clearly when things get loud, recover fast after a setback, and act from steadiness instead of reaction.

The distinction that matters is between insight and integration. Insight is knowing your pattern. Integration is your body no longer running it. Coaching lives in that gap.

Why does insight alone not change anything?

Insight does not change your baseline because the part of your brain that reacts does not learn from explanation, it learns from repeated experience. Most capable adults already know their patterns. They have read the books, done the therapy, named the whole thing out loud. And they still overthink, still hesitate, still spike.

That is not a failure of understanding. It is that the reacting brain was trained by repetition and only retrains through repetition. A session gives it a different experience to practice, over and over, in a settled state where it can actually take. If you want the plain version of how that settled state is built, it is on private sessions and in the science at Where This Comes From.

How does an Envision Yoga session build mental fitness?

A session pairs a calm brain state with a rehearsal of who you want to be. First the bilateral audio, alternating left and right sound, settles the part of your brain that scans for threat into a calm, REM-like state. That is the same mechanism inside EMDR, pointed forward rather than at old memories. Then, while you are in that receptive state, I layer in gentle yoga, a detailed visualization, and a few plain affirmations. You spend the hour rehearsing clarity instead of rehearsing stress. A single session is called an Envisioning.

Who is private mental fitness coaching for?

It is for capable people who are not in crisis and still want more steadiness than they have: founders, executives, creatives, anyone carrying a lot who is tired of doing it braced. Many clients are stable and successful and simply want to expand what they can hold without tightening. You do not need something to be wrong. Wanting to grow is enough.

If yoga is the frame that speaks to you more than coaching does, it is the same work described as a private Envision Yoga session.

How often, and in person or online?

In my experience, most people notice real change from weekly sessions over a couple of months, then reassess. Baseline shifts through repetition, not through one big hour. Sessions run in person at my apartment in Los Angeles, or over Zoom if you have stereo headphones, since the left-right audio has to reach each ear separately. You can test your setup here in ten seconds. I do not have a studio of my own. If you would rather feel it before committing to private work, a weekly class is the low-key way in.

Common questions

How is this different from therapy? Therapy works on the past and can diagnose and treat. Mental fitness coaching works forward and does neither. It shares a mechanism with EMDR but it is training, not treatment. If you are seeking clinical support, that is a different and appropriate tool.

What does it cost? $200 for 60 minutes, packages available. A weekly class is the lower-commitment way to start.

How many sessions before I notice something? Some people feel calmer the same day, but baseline change comes from repetition. Weekly for 8 to 12 weeks is a fair window to judge it by.

Can we do it over Zoom? Yes, with stereo headphones or earbuds, since the alternating left-right audio is the whole point. Test your setup at the stereo check before your first online session.
